Rental Definitions

Package

A rental package comes with all the essential gear. Ski package includes skis, boots, and poles. Snowboard package includes boots, bindings, and board. Alpine Touring and Split board Packages come with climbing skins.

Time

Equipment is rented on a daily basis. The rented day begins when the equipment is picked up and ends at shop's closing time the same day. Multiple day rental works the same way. For example; a three day rental picks up equipment Friday and returns before closing on Sunday.

Forgot to return gear!

Equipment that is not returned by closing time can be returned the following day during the first hour after opening. All equipment returned after this time will be charged an additional day rental.

Alpine and Nordic

There are two basic disciplines in skiing that are dictated by the boot and binding. A Nordic binding system allows the heel to come free from the ski for both descending and ascending and is paired with a flexible boot sole. An Alpine binding system has a rigid boot sole and attaches the heel to the ski for descending.

Ski and Board

Modern ski and board sizing involves length, width, stiffness and sidecut. Our staff are experts on selection. The most important aspects to know are skier type; Beginner, Cruiser or Aggressive and preferred terrain: on piste or off piste. Also, let our technicians know if you are shopping for a particular type of ski or board or just want the best for the day.

Boots

Boot rentals are based on comfort and  performance. We have a wide range of boot brands to accommodate almost all foot shapes and sizes and most levels of performance with ski boots up to 95 stiffness for woman and 110 for men. Snowboard boot rentals are perfect for beginner and intermediate riders and adequate for most advanced riders. If you need top performance in ski or snowboard boots we offer the best brands in the industry for sale.

Alpine Touring

Similar to Downhill in that you can fix your boot heel to the ski for the descent, but the binding allows the boot to pivot at the toe for uphill touring. A hybrid mountaineering and downhill.

Telemark

Nordic skiing technique and equipment that utilizes the beefiest of bindings and a boot similar in stiffness and cuff height to an Alpine ski boot.  As in all Nordic skiing, the heel is free and the boots are specific to the binding system. Today, most Telemark skis are identical to Alpine skis with the exception of the binding and where it is mounted.

Cross Country

This is the classic Nordic ski with modern construction and materials. All of our XC skis are waxless patterned base and are combined with either a heavier three pin Telemark binding and boot for off trail use or a NNN binding and boot for set track trail skiing.

Shoe Covers

Neoprene shoe covers  that enable you to use regular street shoes while snowshoeing that keep your feet warm and mostly dry.

Climbing Skins

A piece of mostly nylon material the same size as your ski base that can be attached to provide traction for uphill travel. When you want to descend you pull them off and down you go.
