The 2027 Völkl Blaze 114 is a lightweight freeride ski designed for intermediate to expert skiers who want effortless float, agility, and precision in soft snow. With a 114 mm waist and a surprisingly low swing weight, it delivers a playful yet controlled feel in deep powder while remaining responsive in variable conditions. The rocker profile and 3D Radius shaping create a surfy, catch-free ride without sacrificing edge control, even when the snow firms up. A lightweight core with added stability underfoot keeps the ski composed at speed, giving the Blaze 114 the versatility to shine both as a resort powder ski and a touring-capable freeride option for skiers who value responsiveness and control.
Rocker Camber Small Rise: Skis with a rocker in the tip, camber in the middle and a small rise in the tail are very versatile. The ski is easy to turn, and the camber under the foot gives the ski grip on harder snow. The tail is slightly raised, but it is not like a full rocker. This makes for a balanced combination of easy turning and carving, without compromising on stability.
Sidewall Construction: A durable PU sidewall seals and protects the ski’s layered construction while adding structural strength. By improving power transfer from the skier to the edges, sidewall construction delivers better edge grip, increased stability at speed, and more precise handling. It also enhances durability and impact resistance for long-lasting performance.
- A short radius in the middle of the ski, focused on short turns and low speeds, feels agile and makes it easier to ski short turns.
- The longer radii in the tip and tail ensure that the ski feels unflappable in the tip and the turns are easy to steer. This longer radius also makes the ski suitable for high speeds and long turns.
