Volkl Kendo 88 Skis - 2021

  • $649.00

The 2021 Volkl Kendo 88 skis are an excellent example of an advanced and expert level ski done right. There's a lot to like about these skis, and it starts with Volkl's reputation as a strong ski builder with an unmistakable carving feel. The reputation is well-deserved, and the on-trail capabilities of the Kendo can certainly be traced back to the race room. Starting with the multi-layer wood core, the Kendo 88 adds a sheet and a frame of titanal to the already burly build. As a result, the full sheet makes the ski smooth, stable and damp while the frame laminate allows the ski to flex more naturally. This causes the Kendo to possess multiple personalities when it comes to different speeds and terrain. Carrying through to this year is the 3D Radius shape that helps the Kendo react to skier input in a different way. It allows the skier to direct the ski more accurately and precisely, creating a ski that has multiple turn shapes at its demand. It's a subtle thing, but the more you ski on it the more you realize how effective it is in helping the ski adapt to terrain, speed, and snow conditions. At 88 mm underfoot, the skis are the perfect blend of power and performance. While not the floater of the wider skis in the line, the Kendo 88 has enough taper and rocker in its shape and profile to make a good floater for its surface area.
